Dubai: Day #4 Life at the Marina

Dubai Marina Walk
It was a late afternoon.  The surrounding of Dubai Marina Walk was a mix of luxury and comfort. Prestigious restaurants were scattered around the area, towering buildings and hotels were at sight (those were the buildings we saw from The Palm Jumeirah), yet we also saw children running freely, adults jogged at ease on the walkway.

Looking at the yachts parked at the marina might create envy.  But hey, we had a similar sight in our hometown too. The only difference, this marina was more accessible, and we could see how well-maintained it was.

We could linger around this area the whole day, without having the need to spend anything but our time.

A closer look ..
.. toward infinity.
Sitting on this bench ..
.. creates daydreams.
"When can we afford ..
.. one of these?"
Walking a shorter distance ..
.. of the 7-km pedestrians walkways.
These balls are not for kicking ..
.. but for posing in front of the camera.
A dancing fountain on a break.

I need a sunglasses.

Now lemme me take this moment to reveal a tragedy.

This day Mat wore a Ray-Ban, courtesy of Braden (because this careless Mama forgot to pack one for him, didn't know sunglasses were that essential in Dubai).  It was a very trendy sunglasses.

Poor Owen was jealous.  Didn't babies' eyes deserve to be protected from the blinding sun too?

So I put the Ray-Ban on him just for a couple of minutes.

Yay, I got one!
Looking cool as a Godfather in the making.

After a couple of photoshoots, an emergency diaper change in the park and a quick shopping at the supermarket, we're already in the car at the car park when we realized the Ray-Ban was not coming home with us.

And the evidence of its existence right before it went missing, was Owen's wearing it for the photoshoots.  I was sure I returned it to Mat before I changed Owen's diaper, Mat was sure he never got a hold of it again once I put it on Owen, and Andri wasn't sure which one of those two scenarios really happened.

A trip back to Marina Walk resulted zero.  It's gone.  And that put us all in a very dark and gloomy mood for the rest of the evening.

(Not until we went back to Indonesia, I found this on my Note 2.  Apparently, when Mat played with it, I had no idea when, he drew a picture of a crying child because he lost the sunglasses.)

I'm sorry, Ii Sisil, Koko Braden :'(
